Sync a device with Vekta

Edited

Vekta connects with Garmin, Wahoo, Coros, Hammerhead, Zwift, Oura, WHOOP and more to bring your training and recovery data into one place. This article walks through connecting a device or sensor, what to expect once it's linked, and what to check if something isn't syncing.

1. How Syncing Works

Every connection is made from the Vekta mobile app, but the authorisation itself happens on the provider's side. You'll be sent to their app or login page to approve access, then returned to Vekta.

Once approved, Vekta imports your available history (limits vary by provider) and keeps syncing new sessions and health data automatically from then on.

2. Connect a Device or Sensor

Sync during onboarding

Download and open the Vekta mobile app. During account setup, you'll see a Sync Your Gear screen. Tap the logo of the device you want to connect (e.g. Garmin) and you'll be redirected to the provider's permissions page: follow the steps to authorise Vekta. Once authorised, you'll return to the Vekta app with syncing active.

Sync from app settings

In the Vekta app, tap the rightmost tab to access your profile, then tap the gear icon in the top right to open Settings. Scroll to Data Sources and tap to manage device connections. Choose your device and follow the authorisation steps. When complete, you'll return to the app and data will begin syncing automatically.

Connecting a sensor like CORE, Stryd, or Tymewear? These don't need a separate connection. Vekta reads their data straight out of your session files once your head unit is set up to record it. See the sensor's own article for what it captures and which head units support it.

3. What to Expect After Connecting

How much history comes in, and whether it's automatic, depends on the provider. Some import automatically; others (like Garmin) need historical import switched on separately. Learn more about what your provider supports in its own article.

New sessions and health data sync automatically after that. If you've just connected, give it a few minutes before assuming something's wrong: see the checks below first.

4. Troubleshooting a Connection

Connected, but no data is showing up

A few things to check before contacting us:

Give it a few minutes. The first sync after connecting can take longer than later ones.

Check historical import is switched on, if your provider requires it. Garmin, for example, doesn't import past sessions by default: you need to turn Historical Data on in Garmin Connect. Check your provider's own article to see if this applies.

Confirm the session was recorded on a supported device. Some providers only sync activities recorded directly on their own hardware; activities uploaded to that provider from somewhere else won't come through to Vekta either.

Still nothing? Contact us with the provider name and the email on your Vekta account, and we'll take a look.

"Already connected" or you connected the wrong account

Vekta only allows one account per provider at a time. If you're seeing an "already connected" message, or synced data from an account you didn't mean to link, the previous account needs to be disconnected before a new one can take its place.

Learn how to disconnect a connected account, then reconnect the right one from Settings → Data Sources above.

Still Stuck?

If you've followed the steps above and a device still won't connect or sync, contact us with the provider name and the email address on your Vekta account.
