Keyboard Shortcuts

Edited

Vekta's desktop app can be driven almost entirely from the keyboard. Shortcuts let you plan a week, review a session and move between views without reaching for your mouse for every action.

Keyboard shortcuts are available on the desktop app only. They are not available in the mobile app.

1. How Shortcuts Work

Most shortcuts act on whatever is under your cursor, so there is nothing to select first.

  • Hover, then press. Move your cursor over a card or a day on the Calendar, then press the key. The action applies to the item you are hovering.

  • Single keys act, Cmd combinations confirm. Single letters trigger an action straight away. Cmd + Enter saves, and Cmd + Delete deletes.

  • The same key can mean different things. Keys are read in context, so C copies a card on the Calendar and opens the Comparison tab inside an activity.

On Windows, use Ctrl wherever this article says Cmd.

2. Open the Shortcuts Panel

Press Cmd + ; at any time to open the full list of shortcuts, and press it again to close it. The panel is grouped the same way as this article, so it is the quickest way to check a key you have forgotten.

You will also see the relevant shortcut in the tooltip when you hover a tab inside an activity or Insights.

3. Add to the Calendar

Hover the day you want to add to, then press:

  • P: create a training prescription.

  • R: create an event.

  • N: create a note.

  • M: add a metric.

Press Cmd + Enter to save what you have created. Learn more about planning sessions in the Calendar Overview.

4. Act on a Calendar Card

Hover a session, event or note on the Calendar, then press:

  • Enter: open it.

  • E: edit it.

  • C: copy it.

  • D: download it.

  • H: hide or unhide it.

  • T: edit the training stimulus.

  • X: mark it complete.

  • U: unpair a performed activity from its prescription.

  • Cmd + Delete: delete it.

Hiding is only available on items you created yourself. Learn more about hiding sessions and notes here.

5. Copy and Paste a Session

Copying uses two shortcuts, one on the item and one on the destination.

Copy the session
Hover the prescription, note or event you want to duplicate, then press C.

Paste it on another day
Move your cursor over the day you want it on, then press V. The item is added to that day.

Your copy stays available, so you can keep moving the cursor and pressing V to place it on several days. This is the fastest way to build a repeating week.

Copy and paste are also available by right-clicking, along with Cut, which moves an item instead of duplicating it.

6. Inside an Activity

When a performed activity is open, single keys switch tabs:

  • O: Overview.

  • S: Streams.

  • Z: Zones.

  • I: Intervals.

  • P: Peaks.

  • C: Comparison.

  • R: report an issue with the activity.

  • Shift + C: open the chat.

Learn more about what each tab shows in Session Analysis.

7. Insights and Profile

In Insights, switch between views with:

  • L: Load.

  • T: Training.

  • P: Performance.

  • R: Race.

  • W: Wellness.

On an athlete's Profile, switch sport with:

  • C: Cycling.

  • R: Running.

  • S: Swimming.
