Race Classification
When you upload a new cycling session, Vekta’s machine learning classification system analyzes the session’s power data to determine whether it’s a training session or a race. This classification is based on the stochastic patterns in your power output, identifying the distinct demands of racing.
Classifying Race Types
Once a session is recognized as a race, Vekta automatically categorizes it into specific race types, such as:
Individual Time Trial (ITT)
Flat Stage
Hilly Stage
Mountain Stage
This allows for deeper insights into the nature of each race effort.
In-Depth Race Metrics
For sessions identified as races, Vekta extracts additional key metrics to help you better understand race demands:
Number of Climbs: Automatically detects and counts significant climbs throughout the race.
Climb Statistics: Provides a detailed analysis of each climb, including length, elevation gain, and average gradient.
These powerful metrics make it easy to access detailed race insights and compare similar events over time. (Learn more about comparing races in Race Comparison).
What if a session is not classified correctly?
